Formaldehyde free preservative for starch adhesives

Formaldehyde is a common preservative but is a carcinogen and a skin sensitizer. An alternative product made of sodium chloride and compounds extracted from berries is available as bactericide for starch adhesives. As the producer claims, the product is an efficient long-term preservative. It has low odor and can be used in automatic dosing systems. Its classification by the FDA as G.R.A.S. could allow its use in food industry.
