Launch of Roadmap on Carcinogens 3.0

We are pleased to announce that the next phase of the Roadmap on Carcinogens was officially launched on June 13. During the successful conference, held on June 12 and 13 and organized by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Roadmap partners formally concluded the second phase and introduced Roadmap on Carcinogens 3.0. This new phase, which will run until the end of 2027, will focus on dissemination and implementation, ensuring that businesses and workers throughout Europe can take the proper measures to prevent exposure to carcinogens at work.

Ongoing commitment throughout Europe

With the signing of the covenant, 9 EU-member states, BusinessEurope (European employers), European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC – European workers), the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), the European Chemicals Agency  (ECHA) and the European Commission, renewed their commitment to this EU voluntary action scheme to prevent workers from exposure to carcinogens in the workplace.

Also, we are excited to welcome two additional partners for the next phase, the Norwegian National Institute of Occupational Health (STAMI) and EU-member state Ireland.

Focus Roadmap on Carcinogens 3.0

In the first stage of the Roadmap on Carcinogens, the focus was on raising awareness and joining forces throughout the EU. RoC 2.0 gained further impact by executing 12 challenges resulting in additional guidance, new tools and relevant information for businesses and workers. Now, the Roadmap on Carcinogens 3.0 focusses on spreading the results and tools directly to the place where they are needed for implementation: the shop floor. A new website, which will be released in fall, will provide direct answers to employers, employees and OSH-experts to their questions related to working with carcinogenic substances.

We proudly congratulate the partners for their achievements of RoC2.0 and thank the Belgian Presidency for organizing the highly successful event.
